Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan said on Monday (July 14) that remittances worth $119.4 million arrived in the country in the first 13 days of July of the 2025-26 fiscal year. The amount in Taka is about Tk 14,447 crore (1 dollar = Tk 121). This figure was $979 million during the same period last year. That is, an increase of $215 million or about Tk 2,601 crore in a year.
Earlier, remittances in June of the recently concluded 2024-25 fiscal year were about $2.82 billion, which is the third highest in a single month. In that month, an average of $94 million or about Tk 1,147 crore was received daily.
Remittance flows were also significant in other months of the 2024-25 fiscal year:
March: $3.29 billion (highest)
May: $2.97 billion (second highest)
June: $2.82 billion (third highest)
The total remittances received during the entire fiscal year (July-June) were $30.33 billion, which is 26.8 percent more than the previous fiscal year.
