Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has directed to take effective steps to fill the vacant posts of head teachers in government primary schools of the country quickly.
This information was given in a press release sent to the media from the Press Wing of the Principal Advisor on Tuesday (July 15) morning.
The release said that Dr. Yunus gave this instruction at a high-level meeting held at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday afternoon. The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Secretary to the Ministry Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, Principal Secretary to the Principal Advisor Siraj Uddin Mia and concerned officials.
The meeting discussed the quality of education in government primary schools, identification of good schools and evaluation methods.
At that time, Advisor Bidhan Ranjan Roy said that despite huge investments in the infrastructure sector in primary education, the desired quality improvement has not been achieved. For this, schools are being ranked by conducting school-based evaluation and special programs are being taken for backward students.
He further said that in schools where the quality of education is good, the skills of the head teacher and his/her interpersonal relationship with colleagues play an important role. Currently, there are about 32,000 vacant posts of head teachers in government primary schools in the country. He also informed the Chief Advisor that the matter is being taken very seriously and initiatives are being taken to complete the recruitment process quickly.
