On Tuesday (July 8), Supreme Court lawyer Mohi Uddin sent a legal notice against six people, including the producer of the drama 'Bachelor Point', Kajal Arefin Ami. The others include actors Marzuk Russell, Ziaul Haque Palash, Saidur Rahman Pavel, Shimul Sharma and production company Boom Films.
The notice alleged that episodes 1 to 8 of the drama's 5th season contain multiple obscene, double-meaning and anti-moral dialogues, which are having a negative impact on teenagers and young people.
Objecting to the use of words like 'date', 'twenty/twenty', 'shisha', 'lungi', 'kidney', 'female', 'dairy' in the dialogue, it was said that these dialogues are damaging social decency, family taste and respect for women.
The notice also highlighted a previous comment by the producer, where he said that the drama is for viewers of all ages. However, according to the notice giver, the language and presentation of the drama are not family-friendly.
According to the National Broadcasting Policy-2014 and the Online Media Policy-2017, it is claimed that these contents are having an adverse effect on the mental formation of children and adolescents.
The notice calls for the controversial dialogues and videos to be removed from the internet within 7 working days. Otherwise, legal action will be taken, it is stated.
