Tensions have reached a peak on the Indo-Pak border over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. After two weeks of reciprocal threats, India launched missile strikes on at least nine places in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Tuesday (May 6) midnight, killing 31 people, according to Pakistan.

In response, Pakistan has claimed to have shot down five Indian warplanes and Islamabad has given full permission to the country's army to give any necessary response. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has warned, "There will be a heavy price for every Indian attack."

In this situation, the country's government has ordered the temporary closure of at least 21 airports in the north and northwestern regions of India until May 10. The suspension of commercial flights in these regions has had a huge impact on domestic and international flights.

According to a report by 'The Hindu', airports in important cities including Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, Shimla, Jodhpur are temporarily closed. Several airlines including IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet have canceled more than hundreds of flights.

Pakistan has also suspended all trade with India and closed its airspace to Indian flights.

In the US, United and American Airlines have cancelled flights to Delhi, and President Trump has called the clash "shameful" and expressed hope that it will end soon.
