A responsible source at Shahjalal International Airport confirmed the departure of former President Abdul Hamid from the country on Thursday (May 8).

The source said that he left Dhaka for Bangkok on Thai Airways flight TG 340 at 3:05 am. Earlier, he reached the airport around 11 pm and was allowed to go abroad after completing the necessary checks at immigration.

Meanwhile, information has been received that at least one murder case has been filed against former President Abdul Hamid. He was made the main accused in the case filed at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station on January 14. The names of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Saima Wazed Putul and Obaidul Quader have also been mentioned as accused in the case.

Although there were about fifty cases against Awami League leaders in Kishoreganj before the January 14 case, Abdul Hamid's name was not in any of them.
