On Sunday (May 25) morning, officials and employees left the office and took part in a protest march in protest against the draft of the 'Government Jobs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025'. During the march, they chanted slogans including 'Illegal Black Laws' and 'Abolish Black Laws'. The protesters marched in various areas inside the secretariat.

Last Thursday, the interim government's advisory council meeting approved the draft of the 'Government Jobs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025' by amending the Government Jobs Act, 2018.

The officials and employees alleged that the draft included some 'regressive clauses' of the special provisions of the government jobs repealed in 1979, which would make it possible to easily punish or dismiss any official from service. They said that this was unconstitutional and would create unreasonable pressure on the administration.

The officials participating in the protest said that their fundamental rights are being taken away by making a black law. The government is creating new unrest by re-introducing a repealed provision. In this, the officials and employees will be subjected to administrative oppression.

They made it clear that they will go on a tough movement if this ordinance is not repealed. They have also warned that they will lock all the rooms of the Law Ministry if necessary.
