A CNN report on Wednesday, June 25, quoted Iran's state-run Fars News Agency as saying that the country's intelligence and security forces have arrested 700 mercenary agents accused of working for Israel in the recent 12-day conflict.

The arrested individuals were mainly involved in intelligence activities and sabotage. They were identified and detained based on a secret network, intelligence operations and public reports.

The report also said that Israel's intelligence agency Mossad launched an attack on Iran on June 13 as part of "Operation Rising Lion". Before this operation, Mossad is said to have collected secret footage of its agents deployed in Iran and also set up a secret base for drone attacks inside Iran.

In this situation, the Iranian government took strict action. Many people were arrested for expressing pro-Israel opinions on social media. The accused were charged with "disrupting the psychological security of society".

During the conflict, a special unit was set up in the Tehran prosecutor's office to monitor media and private social media.

Fars News reported that those arrested included residents of Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars and Lorestan provinces. Authorities have not yet released details on how many agents were arrested in the capital, Tehran.

Meanwhile, other Iranian media outlets have claimed that several accused Israeli agents have been executed since the conflict began.
