In a meeting held at Rail Bhaban on Wednesday (August 27) at 10 am, the leaders of the traditional Chandranath Dham (Kanchannath-Chandranath-Adinath) Shrine Committee of Sanatan Dharma followers said that various provocative activities have been going on around the temple for the last five years, which is being seen as an attempt to destroy harmony.
From the meeting, the advisors of the three ministries ordered the field administration, law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies to be vigilant. The committee also highlighted the need to repair the stairs for traveling to the temple.
Shrine Committee President Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya said that the condition of the stairs is not good, there is a risk of accidents. In response to this request, Railway Advisor Faozul Kabir Khan asked the Secretary of the Chittagong Local Government Ministry to take immediate measures to repair the stairs.
Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar said that the government is working to build a society without discrimination regardless of religion, caste and class. Religious Advisor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain said, attacks on other religious establishments are anti-religious crimes, which are never acceptable. Strict action will be taken if there is an attempt to destroy religious harmony and urged the followers of traditional religions to send their just demands to the ministry.
Railway Advisor Fawzul Kabir Khan said, the heritage and history of Chandranath Temple are our pride. Any provocative activities to destroy communal harmony will not be tolerated. Instructions have been given to take strict action immediately if any sign of provocation is received.
