Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor, made these remarks at a ceremony to hand over land allotment papers for three mosques and a temple in Khilkhet in the capital on Wednesday (August 27) morning.
He said that although a Hindu temple was demolished during the railway land acquisition in the Khilkhet area, it was not done with due respect.
He also said that considering the matter seriously, the Railways Ministry has allocated new land for the religious place of worship. This land has been allocated at the price fixed by the railway.
The press secretary also said that instructions have been given to renovate the stairs leading to the temple in response to the request of the Chandranath Temple authorities in Chittagong.
