A senior DB official confirmed his arrest to the media.

Earlier, on June 18 this year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Chairman of the National Election Observer Council (JANIPOP).

He is accused of trying to legitimize the national elections held under former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Kalimullah has been in the news since he took over as the Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University. In particular, the incident of taking classes online at 3 am sparked widespread discussion and criticism on social media.

In addition, a scene from a film in which he acted also went viral on social media.
