UNRWA official Philippe Lazzarini said that on Tuesday morning, Israeli security forces forcibly entered six UNRWA schools in East Jerusalem and ordered them to close within 30 days. This will affect about 800 students and may disrupt their education.
The Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that Israeli forces have issued a military order to close schools from May 8. Violating the order will be considered a criminal offense.
Meanwhile, 26 more people were killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, from early Tuesday to early Wednesday.
