Since the beginning of 2025, there has been a kind of instability and a huge change in opinions in global politics and society. In such a context, Newsweek has recently published a list of the 10 most hated countries in the world, analyzing data from the World Population Review. This ranking has been prepared by combining various international reports and global public opinion surveys.
According to the Financial Express report, the results of this survey reflect the growing frustration and dissatisfaction of people with the actions and policies of various governments around the world.
India is ranked tenth on the list. Various allegations against the country—such as religious violence, discriminatory treatment of minorities, and internet censorship—have negatively affected India's international image. Along with this, ongoing border disputes and internal political unrest have eroded global trust in the country.
China is at the top of the list. The country has repeatedly faced criticism for its authoritarian rule, widespread censorship, and environmental pollution. China's tough stance on Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau and its persecution of Uyghur Muslims have further fueled global distrust.
The United States and Russia are in second and third place, respectively. North Korea is in fourth place. Israel, which has faced widespread criticism for its violence in Gaza, is in fifth place.
On the other hand, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria are in sixth to ninth place.
