Fireworks took the life of little Rafi

A child named Mohammad Rafi (8) tragically died while burning firecrackers on the night of Eid in Patuakhali. The accident occurred in the Munsefpara area of the district town on Sunday (March 30) at around 9 pm.

Rafi was the son of Manir Hawlader, a fish trader from the New Market area of the municipality, and a first-grade student at a local madrasa. Family members said the children were overwhelmed with joy after seeing the Eid moon.Rafi was busy setting off fireworks with his friends when a firecracker got stuck in his throat and he ran home bleeding and collapsed on the ground

Locals quickly rescued him and took him to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The accident has left the people of the area in shock. Rafi's untimely death has cast a shadow of deep sorrow over his family and the area.

Rafi's funeral will be held in front of the Charpara Wezia Madrasa on Monday (March 31) at 8:30 am.

Patuakhali Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Imtiaz Hossain said the accident occurred while setting off fireworks with an umbrella stick and legal action will be taken in this regard.
