Dhaka's air pollution has eased somewhat due to rainfall and less traffic. As of 9:17 am on Thursday (April 10), according to IQAir, the capital's AQI score was 68, which falls in the 'moderate' level.
With this score, Dhaka is ranked 45th in the list of most polluted cities in the world. At the same time, Delhi was at the top (score 189), followed by Lahore (176), Shanghai (170), Beijing (166) and Hanoi (163).
According to the AQI score:
0–50: Good
51–100: Moderate
101–150: Unhealthy for sensitive people
151–200: Unhealthy
201–300: Very unhealthy
301+: Hazardous
Although Dhaka's position is in the medium level, experts believe that more steps are necessary to prevent air pollution.
