BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is returning home on May 5 after a long five-month treatment. Considering her illness, Biman Bangladesh Airlines proposed to change the London-Sylhet-Dhaka route to London-Dhaka-Sylhet. However, she rejected the proposal, considering the suffering of other passengers.

BNP Chairperson's Press Wing Member Shamsuddin Didar said that Khaleda Zia will return home on a regular flight of Biman Bangladesh. The flight will depart from Heathrow Airport for Dhaka at 6 pm on May 4 (London time).

According to party sources, her two daughters-in-law may also return with Khaleda Zia. BNP and its affiliated organizations are ready to welcome her.

It is worth noting that on January 8, 2024, Khaleda Zia went to London in a special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar for advanced treatment. She has been suffering from various complex diseases including liver cirrhosis, kidney, heart disease, and diabetes for a long time.
