Al Jazeera reported on Friday (June 27) that Israeli forces have killed many Palestinians in a wide area from Gaza City to Deir al-Balah. Hospitals and shelters have also been hit in these attacks. Hospital sources said that most of the dead were women and children.
Several Palestinians were killed and injured in shootings while waiting in line at food aid distribution centers in the Netzarim Corridor, in particular.
According to Gazan government data, at least 549 Palestinians have been killed and 4,066 injured in the aid centers run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in the past month. 39 are still missing. The Gaza Media Office has called these centers “death traps.”
Meanwhile, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gavi has taken a strong stance in favor of completely closing humanitarian aid operations in Gaza. He described the operation as “shameful for Israel.”
Israel has suspended aid deliveries to Gaza for two days, fearing that aid could fall into the hands of Hamas. Aid corridors to northern Gaza were closed on Thursday, a major obstacle to the entry of aid for millions of people facing famine.
Meanwhile, families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have staged a protest in Tel Aviv demanding the release of their families. They are demanding the intervention of the US and Israeli governments to end the war. They allege that the hostages are being sacrificed for political gain.
