After four months of treatment and rest in London, BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will return home on Monday (May 5). Her personal physician and BNP standing committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said that Khaleda Zia's physical condition is slightly better than before. If everything goes well, she will reach Dhaka on the scheduled date.
Party sources said that she is being brought home on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Although it is not a full-fledged air ambulance, a medical team and family members are working in London to ensure her medical safety. BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is directly supervising the matter.
Begum Zia will be accompanied on the return trip by her two daughters-in-law Dr. Jobaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman Sinthi, physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, advisor Dr. Aminul Haque Chowdhury, APS Masudur Rahman and two housekeepers.
