The death toll from Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip in Palestine has risen to 58,677, Turkey-based Anadolu news agency reported on Thursday (July 17).

The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a report that 94 more bodies have been recovered in Gaza in the past 24 hours and at least 367 people have been injured. This brings the total number of injured to about 139,974.

The statement said that many people are still buried under the rubble or lying on the streets. Rescue workers are unable to reach them due to the fighting. As a result, the actual number of casualties may be much higher.

In addition, 26 Palestinians were killed and at least 32 others were injured by Israeli fire in the past 24 hours while collecting humanitarian aid. The total number of deaths in such attacks since May 27 has reached 877, with 5,666 injured.

Although a brief ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement took effect in January of this year, Israel resumed full-scale attacks on March 18. Since then, 7,843 people have been killed and about 27,922 injured in the past four months.

Meanwhile, Israel is facing international legal proceedings for its attacks on Gaza. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. At the same time, a case is also underway against Israel at the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide.

Nevertheless, the attacks have not stopped. The aggression against Gaza has spread worldwide condemnation and anger.
