
Umama Fatema, a candidate for the vice-president (VP) of the Independent Students' Unity Panel, announced a boycott of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections in a post on her Facebook page at 3:15 am on Tuesday.
In the Facebook post, she wrote, "Boycott! Boycott! I boycott DUCSU."
Questioning the transparency of the election process, Umama Fatema called DUCSU an "election of complete, shameless rigging." She also wrote, "The DU administration has brought shame to the nation after August 5. Shibir-controlled administration!"
Earlier, voting for the DUCSU elections was held from 8 am to 4 pm on Tuesday. The results began to be announced at various centers around 1:30 am. The results obtained show that the candidates of the Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported panel are ahead. In such a context, Umama Fatema made this reaction on social media.
