On Friday (June 6), BNP leader Ishraq Hossain, while visiting the National Eidgah Maidan to see the preparations for the main congregation for the holy Eid-ul-Azha, said that no advisor or administrator will be allowed to perform duties in the city building. If necessary, a revolutionary city council will be formed with former councilors and heads of educational institutions to manage the activities of the city corporation.

He said, I am an elected representative here and am performing the duties of the mayor as per the orders of the Supreme Court. This is part of my right and responsibility. I will also be on the field with those who will do the cleaning work tomorrow.

Regarding the advisory council of the interim government, Ishraq said, this council has lost its impartiality and fair elections are not possible under them. He urged the advisors to resign and directly enter politics if they want to do politics.

Referring to the need for reform of the local government system, Ishraq said, no one is talking about this. If necessary, we will launch a movement on this issue.
