WWE has confirmed the death of Hulk Hogan, but has not released a cause of death. TMZ reports that Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) died at his home of a heart attack.
The news comes just three days after Fox Nation acquired the rights to broadcast “Real American Freestyle”—a new wrestling league started by Hogan, Eric Bischoff and Chad Bronstein.
Born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, Hogan was a polarizing figure in the wrestling world. Standing 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing more than 300 pounds, the wrestler began his professional career in the late 1970s. He first joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1979, where he participated in memorable matches against many legends, including Andre the Giant.
He later wrestled in Japan and joined the American Wrestling Association. He returned to the WWF in 1983 and a legend called 'Wrestlemania' was born there.
