The Trump administration has begun work on the construction of a modern air defense system called 'Golden Dome' in the United States to destroy hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles using artificial satellite-based laser technology. President Donald Trump launched the project through an executive order after returning to power for his second term.

Defense sources say that the system will use 400 to 1,000 satellites to detect missiles, and another 200 satellites to attack. However, there are plans to exclude SpaceX from the work of weaponized satellites. Meanwhile, SpaceX, Palantir and Anduril - these three companies are in the race to get the job. The owners of the companies are close supporters of Trump.

Trump has claimed that 'Golden Dome' will be more advanced and technologically dependent than Israel's Iron Dome. The Pentagon said that the project is still in the early stages, but its structure will be finalized soon.
