There has been a fresh fierce clash between Indian and Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir. On Saturday (May 3) night, there was continuous firing in several sectors including Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar. Indian army sources said that the unprovoked attack by Pakistani troops was retaliated. This is being called the biggest clash in recent times. However, no casualties have been reported.
NDTV reported that before the clash, the BSF had arrested a Pakistani Ranger from the border area of Rajasthan. It is believed that the Pakistani army carried out the attack in response. Earlier, on April 23, Pakistan Rangers had abducted BSF member Purnam Kumar Sahu in Punjab, who has not yet returned.
After the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir on April 22 that killed 26 people, India and Pakistan relations deteriorated rapidly. India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, and Pakistan responded by announcing the closure of the Simla Agreement and airspace. Both countries have suspended all trade.
Along with the deployment of troops and exercises on the border, missile displays are underway. After India conducted several missile tests, Pakistan also tested the 450 km range 'Abdali' ballistic missile on Saturday.
