Former International Crimes Tribunal prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroz's doctorate degree has been accused of being fake. On Sunday (May 4), the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney told the Appellate Division in a case related to Turin's Uttara house that Turin Afroz did not complete his PhD from the university.

Lawyer Sajjad Haider said the university had informed in an email that no student named Turin Afroz was in their PhD program and that they do not have any such document.

Meanwhile, Turin Afroz, her mother Shamsunnahar Begum and brother Shishir Ahmed Shahnewaz had been in a long-running dispute over ownership and possession of a house in Uttara in the capital. The High Court has ruled in favor of Shamsunnahar and Shahnewaz, overturning the previous status quo, allowing them to live in the house again.

According to the case details, Turin Afroz allegedly kicked his mother and brother out of the house in 2017. After that, both parties filed a case in court claiming ownership.

Currently, two civil cases regarding possession and ownership of the house are pending in the trial court.
