As all the gates of Nagar Bhaban were locked till 12 noon on Thursday (May 15), officials and employees of various departments of DSCC, including officials of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, could not enter the building. As a result, the activities of the Ministry of Local Government, located on the 12th floor of Nagar Bhaban, have also been closed. Knowing the situation, Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan also did not go to the office.

In the morning, protesters from different wards gathered in front of Nagar Bhaban with a procession under the banner 'Organized by the general voters of Dhaka, organized by: Nagarbasi'. They took positions at the main gate, surrounding roads and entrances, causing severe traffic jams in the area. Many people who came to get services are returning from Nagar Bhaban. Despite having important work on the last working day of the week, many officials could not enter the office.

Participants in the sit-in program complained that Ishraq Hossain is not being given the responsibility of mayor even after the court verdict and the publication of the Election Commission's gazette. There is a delay in taking the oath. For this reason, they have been forced to engage in continuous agitation.

It is worth noting that on March 27, the First Joint District Judge and Election Tribunal of Dhaka declared BNP leader Ishraq Hossain as the mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation and gave a verdict. Then, on April 27, the Election Commission published the gazette. But till now, Ishraq's oath-taking process has not started.
