The government has declared August 5 as the 'July Mass Uprising Day', August 8 as the 'New Bangladesh Day' and July 16 as the 'Martyr Abu Sayeed Day'. The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday (June 25).
The information statement states that instructions have been given to all the ministries, departments and organizations concerned to observe the days properly every year. Of these, August 5 has been classified as 'A' and the remaining two days as 'B'.
