The 2025 HSC and equivalent examinations have started simultaneously across the country from Thursday (June 26). The examination started at 10 am with the Bangla first paper, which will continue until August 10. The practical examination will be held from August 11 to 21.
This time, a total of 12 lakh 51 thousand 111 candidates are candidates. Of these, about 10 lakh 55 thousand are candidates under the 9 general boards, 86 thousand are candidates in the Madrasa board and about 1 lakh 9 thousand are candidates in the technical board. These examinations are being held at 2,797 centers in the country.
The education board said that this time the number of candidates has decreased by about 82 thousand compared to last year. In 2024, there were 13 lakh 32 thousand 993 candidates.
Various measures have been taken to ensure a fair, cheating-free environment. All coaching centers will be closed until August 15 to prevent question leakage and ensure security. There are several instructions for the candidates - entering the center 30 minutes before the exam, filling the OMR sheet correctly, not folding the answer sheet, mobile phones are prohibited, only using a simple calculator, and there is no break between the MCQ and creative sections.
Each part of the exam must be passed and the exam seat has been assigned to an institution other than their own. Students will be able to take the exam only in the subjects mentioned in the admit card. There are instructions to wear masks and use hand sanitizers in accordance with hygiene rules.
The electricity office has been asked to be ready to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the exam. Only analog watches will be allowed to be used in the centers.
On the morning of the first day of the exam, Education Advisor Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar will visit the Bhasantech Government College and Government Bangla College centers.
Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir, convener of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee, said that all preparations have been completed. Law enforcement and administration will be on the alert, and there will also be strict surveillance on social media.
