The main congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Azha was held at the National Eidgah Maidan on Saturday (June 7) at 7:30 am. The Eid congregation was led by Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, Khatib of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram.

The congregation was attended by Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, members of the Government Advisory Council, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court divisions, leaders of various political parties, high-ranking government officials, diplomats of Muslim countries and thousands of people from different classes and professions.

In his sermon after the prayer, Mufti Abdul Malek wished for peace, prosperity and welfare of the country and the nation.

Devotees flocked to participate in the prayer since morning. A large number of law enforcement forces were deployed to ensure entry and security at the Eidgah. There was also a separate prayer area for women. After the congregation, the devotees hugged each other and exchanged Eid greetings.
