The Meteorological Office said that 'Montha' is likely to move further north-northwestwards and cross the Andhra Pradesh coast of India on Tuesday evening or night.
The maximum sustained wind speed within 64 km of the centre of the severe cyclone is 90 km per hour, which is increasing to 110 km in gusts. At this time, the sea is very rough in the area near the centre.
In this situation, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display distant warning signal number two. In addition, all fishing boats and trawlers in the north Bay of Bengal have been instructed to move carefully near the coast and not to go into deep sea.
