Winter vegetables have arrived in the capital's markets, but prices are still high. Tomatoes are being sold at 100 taka per kg, beans at 100-120 taka, bitter gourd at 80, radish at 60 and brinjal at 80-100 taka. The price of green chillies has decreased slightly and is currently at 160 taka per kg, while cauliflower and cabbage are being sold at 40-50 taka. The price of eggs has also decreased by 10 taka per dozen to 130 taka for red and 120 taka for white.

On the other hand, the price of potatoes has decreased by another 2 taka to 20 taka per kg.

In the fish market, boal is being sold at 800-1000 taka, coral at 850-900 taka, cultivated rui at 300-450 taka and tilapia at 180-220 taka. Chicken prices are also stable—broiler at 170 taka, sonali at 280-300 taka, desi at 550-600 taka per kg. The prices of beef and mutton are unchanged—beef at 760-800 taka, mutton at 1,200 taka per kg.

Sellers say that if the supply of winter vegetables increases, prices may decrease slightly in two to three weeks.
