
The government has finalized a list of fake July fighters, confirming that 104 people were wrongly recognized as participants in the July movement. These names will be removed, and their gazettes cancelled — bringing the total number of cancelled gazettes to 127.
According to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the list was prepared based on recommendations from district committees after careful verification.

Joint Secretary of the ministry, Mohammad Faruk Hossain, said the cancellation process is ongoing. “We verified the complaints and found them true. Their names are being removed, and legal action will follow,” he stated.
During the July uprising, 14,636 people were officially recognized — including 602 in the “very seriously injured” category, 1,118 “seriously injured,” and 12,080 “injured.” A total of 844 people were killed, and 8 of their gazettes have already been cancelled.
