At a discussion meeting of the Krishak Dal in the capital on Saturday (May 31), BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has invited BNP for talks at the state guest house Jamuna on June 2.

He said, "Although all the formalities for the talks have been completed, in reality no progress is being seen. Nothing is being done."

Ridiculing the government's reform initiatives, Salahuddin Ahmed said, "In the name of reform, people are only being shown. Elections should be held before December—this is now the clear demand of the people. If for some reason there is a plan to hold elections after December, the government should clearly present it to the people."

He also said, "Those who do not want elections are now spreading propaganda against BNP leaders as traitors and foreign agents. A class is spreading propaganda in return for 17 years of sacrifice."

The BNP leader also alleged that a group in the country is creating division among the nation under the umbrella of fascism.
