Dengue Claims 5 More Lives, 159 Hospitalized in 24 Hours

On Friday (June 13), the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services said that 5 people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours, of which 4 are in Barisal division and 1 in Dhaka South City Corporation. This is the highest death toll in a single day this year. So far, 28 people have died of dengue.


At the same time, 159 people have been admitted to the hospital due to new dengue. Of them, 124 are in Barisal division, 9 each outside the city areas of Chittagong and Dhaka divisions, 12 in Dhaka South, 1 in Dhaka North, 3 in Khulna and 1 in Sylhet.


At this time, 104 patients have recovered and left the hospital. So far this year, a total of 5,570 people have been infected with dengue, of which 55.3% are men and 44.7% are women. A total of 5,011 people have been discharged from the hospital.
