On July 8, a High Court bench of Justice Mohammad Ali and Justice SK Tahsin Ali suspended the proceedings of the flat fraud case for three months and issued a rule following a writ petition filed by one of the accused, Shah Md. Khasruzzaman.

Confirming the matter, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer MA Aziz Khan said that an appeal will be filed to withdraw the High Court's stay order.

It is worth noting that Tulip Siddique, daughter of British MP and Sheikh Rehana, was accused of illegally granting permission to construct a plot in Gulshan and accepting a free flat in the building. In this incident, the ACC filed a case against Tulip Siddique and two former RAJUK officials - Shah Khasruzzaman and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain - on April 15 this year.

When the investigation into the case was almost at its final stage, the ACC suddenly learned of the suspension of the case through a letter from the lawyer.

The letter mentioned that based on Shah Khasruzzaman's writ, the High Court had stayed the case for three months and a rule had been issued in this regard.
