BSF Member Detained by Locals in Chapainawabganj

Locals have detained a member of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on charges of illegal infiltration at the Jahurpur border in Narayanpur union of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila. The incident took place on Wednesday (June 4) morning.


The name of the detained BSF member is Shri Ganesh. He is a member of the Nurpur 71 BSF camp in India. The truth of the incident has been confirmed by the commander of the 53 BGB battalion, Lt. Col. Fahad Mahmud Rinku.


Narayanpur UP Chairman Nazir Ahmed said that some cows and goats from Bangladesh entered India through the Satarshiya area in front of Sub-Pillar 5 of Pillar 19 of the Jahurpur border. While chasing the cattle, BSF member Shri Ganesh entered Bangladesh. Then the locals detained him and handed him over to the BGB.


The BSF member is currently in the custody of the BGB. Lt. Colonel Fahad Mahmud Rinku said the process of sending him back is underway. The border situation is normal.
