On Thursday (October 23) at 12:15 pm, a three-member bench led by International Crimes Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder set November 13 as the date for pronouncing the verdict in the case of Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and three others.

The previous day, Wednesday (October 22), the defense lawyers concluded their arguments. Later, on Thursday, the prosecution presented their rebuttal and final statement. On that day, both the Chief Prosecutor and the Attorney General addressed the tribunal.

A total of 54 people, including family members of martyrs, injured people and doctors, have testified in this case of crimes against humanity committed during the July-August movement.

The then Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun testified as a public witness, who described in detail the events behind the genocide and the roles of the people involved.

The prosecution claims that the testimony and evidence presented is sufficient to prove the guilt of the accused and will stand up to international standards.
