Bangladesh is steadily advancing in the US ready-made garment export market. In the first four months of 2025, from January to April, Bangladesh's export revenue increased by 29.33 percent to $2.983 billion. Bangladesh is at the top of this growth rate, which is more than double that of Vietnam.
This information was provided by the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) under the US Department of Commerce. According to the organization's updated statistics, during this period, the US imported a total of $2,621.8 billion in ready-made garments, which is 10.65 percent more than the same period last year.
Vietnam is now the top partner of the US in garment exports. The country exported $508.91 billion in garments, which is a growth of 16.06 percent. Exports from China increased by only 0.66 percent, amounting to $4.357 billion.
After Bangladesh, the highest growth was recorded by India (20.30%), Pakistan (19.79%), Indonesia (15.60%) and Cambodia (19.57%).
Although Bangladesh still lags behind China and Vietnam in terms of export volume, it is indicating that it will continue to lead the growth rate and strengthen its position in the US market in the future.
