A total of 68,280 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh on 177 flights so far to perform the holy Hajj. This information was given in the latest Hajj bulletin on Wednesday (May 28).
According to the IT Help Desk, of the pilgrims who arrived in Saudi Arabia till 3 am on Tuesday (May 27), 4,583 have gone under government management and 63,697 under private management.
So far, 35,246 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia on 92 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 24,387 on 64 flights of Saudia Airlines and 8,628 on 21 flights of Flynas Airlines.
Meanwhile, 12 pilgrims have died in Mecca and Medina so far while performing Hajj. Of them, 11 are men and one is a woman. 6 people died in Mecca and 6 in Medina.
This year's Hajj flight operations began on April 28. The formal inauguration was done by the Prime Minister's Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain from the Ashkona Hajj Camp in the capital. The first Hajj flight departed from Dhaka for Jeddah at 2:20 am on the same day.
According to the Ministry of Religion, a total of 87,100 Hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh will go to Saudi Arabia in 2025. Three airlines—Biman Bangladesh, Saudia and Flynas—will transport them through a total of 232 pre-Hajj flights.
Subject to the sighting of the moon, the holy Hajj may be held on June 5. The return flight after the Hajj will start on June 10 and end on July 10.
