In a statement on Tuesday, Facebook's parent company Meta said that from now on, users will be able to easily upload and share any type of video content in the 'Reels' format.
As part of this change, Facebook's 'Video' tab is also being renamed. The new name will be the 'Reels' tab.
This new feature is being launched very soon. It will reach all users' profiles and pages in a phased manner. It will be effective globally in the next few months.
Meta said that there is no restriction on the length or format of Reels videos in this new feature. As a result, all types of videos - short, long or live - can be uploaded and posted as 'Reels'.
Users who have already uploaded content in the video category will not have any changes to their videos. Previous videos can be found by going to the 'Reels' tab.
However, users whose feed posts and Reels have different audience settings may need to set a new audience or change their settings.
Meta hopes that this change will make it easier for Facebook users to share videos and increase opportunities for creativity.
