606 murder cases have been filed against fascist Sheikh Hasina across the country on charges of genocide during the July-August uprising. Of these, 388 cases have been filed in 50 police stations in Dhaka alone. The highest number of cases has been filed in Jatrabari police station—112. There have been 13 cases in Mohammadpur, 16 in Mirpur, 9 in Dhanmondi, 8 in Shahbagh, 12 in Uttara West and 8 in Uttara East.

Outside Dhaka, 24 cases have been filed in Chittagong, 12 in Rajshahi, 9 in Khulna, 8 in Mymensingh, 7 in Rangpur, 5 in Sylhet and 6 in Barisal.

The cancellation of Hasina's party registration by the High Court ruling is also a first in the country's history.

Even though eight months have passed since the Yunus government, there has been no visible progress in the investigation of these cases. The police claim that they are not slow but are moving forward with scrutiny.

DMP spokesperson Talebur Rahman said that the investigation of some cases is in its final stages and the report will be submitted to the court soon.

Human rights activist and lawyer Sara Hossain said, "It is important to give a specific person the responsibility of overseeing these cases. The progress of the cases and the government's position need to be clarified to restore people's trust."
