On Saturday (May 10) afternoon, a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat ​​Ali has ordered a ban on all types of meetings, gatherings, processions and mass gatherings in the Secretariat, the residence of the Chief Advisor, Jamuna and surrounding areas.

This decision has been taken under the powers conferred on it under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance to maintain public order and security. Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Kakrail Mosque intersection, Officers Club intersection and Mintu Road will also be under this ban.

This order will remain in effect until further orders.
