Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is leaving for Doha today (Monday) on a four-day official visit at the invitation of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. During the visit, he will participate in the 'Arthana Summit-2025', which will be held in Doha on April 22 and 23.
In addition to participating in the summit, the Principal Advisor is likely to have a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar, his press wing said. Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain and Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan will be accompanying him on this visit.
Setting a special example, for the first time, four national female athletes are going to Qatar as the accompanying delegation of the Principal Advisor. They are - footballer Afida Khandaker, Shaheda Akhtar Ripa and cricketers Sumaiya Akhtar and Sharmin Sultana.
Themed ‘Building Our Legacy: Sustainability, Innovation and Traditional Knowledge’, this year’s summit will explore ways to shape the future by harnessing sustainable development, traditional culture and ecological diversity in the context of climate change.
The two-day conference will feature presentations, panel discussions, workshops and roundtables, where a roadmap for building an inclusive future through the combination of traditional knowledge and modern innovation will be set.
