
A man named Biplob Gharami (40) died in the Daulatdia brothel in Goalanda, Rajbari on Thursday (November 13).
The deceased Biplob Gharami is the son of the deceased Hares Ullah Gharami of Kazipur village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district. According to local sources, he fell unconscious after consuming aphrodisiacs in the brothel. Later, he died in the area adjacent to Daulatdia railway station while being taken to the hospital. On receiving the information, the Goalanda Ghat police recovered the body.
Locals said that Biplob died due to excessive consumption of desi Bengali liquor and aphrodisiacs.
Goalanda police officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun said that when the police recovered the body and took it to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty confirmed the death. He said that initially it is believed that Biplob died of a heart attack due to excessive consumption of aphrodisiac tablets. The family also said that he had previously suffered from heart disease. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report comes.
