Hajj Flights Begin On Tuesday

The flight operations for the holy Hajj are starting next Tuesday. On the first day, 419 pilgrims will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia. The flight will be officially inaugurated by the interim government's religious affairs advisor AFM Khalid Hossain.


This year, 5,200 pilgrims will perform Hajj under government management and the remaining 81,900 under private management.


The first Hajj flight will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Saudi Arabia at 2:15 am. For the smooth management of the Hajj, 112 government guides and 1,743 private guides will be on duty. In addition, 70 guides will be engaged in providing overall support to the pilgrims.


A total of three airlines, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, are ready to transport the pilgrims. The Hajj flights will run until May 31, while the return flights will start from June 10 and end by July 10.

This year, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate 118 Hajj flights, Saudia 80 and Nas Airlines 34. Biman will operate 109, Saudia 79 and Nas Airlines 34 return flights respectively.


One of the most important ceremonies of Hajj is the Hajj sermon at Arafat Maidan, which will be broadcast live from the Namira Mosque on 9 Zilhaj. This time too, the sermon will be broadcast worldwide and will be instantly translated into 20 languages.


The languages ​​into which the sermon will be translated are—Bangla, English, Urdu, Persian, French, Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Hausa, Malay, Swedish, Spanish, Swahili, Amharic, Italian, Portuguese, Bosnian, Malayalam, Filipino and German.
