'Joint efforts of workers and employers can build a prosperous Bangladesh': Chief Advisor

In a message on the occasion of the Great May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day-2025, Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, “Workers and employers complement each other. A strong, self-reliant and prosperous Bangladesh can be built only through their joint efforts.”

He said that good worker-employer relations are essential for the sustainable development of the country. This year, the theme of May Day is ‘Workers and Employers Unite, Let’s Build This Country anew’.

Dr. Yunus also said, “The sacrifice of workers in the city of Chicago in 1886 is still an inspiration for achieving workers’ rights worldwide. The merit and hard work of workers and employers in the country’s economic progress are undeniable.”

At the time, he reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring fair rights, social security and a safe working environment for workers and wished the success of the two days.
