Offices and Courts Reopen Today After EID Holiday

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, March 27 (Thursday) was the last working day for the officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices. The next day, March 28 (Friday), a 9-day continuous public holiday began, which lasted until April 5 (Saturday).


Earlier, on March 20, the Advisory Council meeting approved a proposal to declare a holiday from April 3 on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on March 31, subject to the sighting of the moon.

In addition, the Advisory Council approved a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr on October 17, 2024, which was previously three days. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on October 21.


According to the notification, Eid-ul-Fitr was declared a general holiday on March 31, and the two days before Eid, March 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday), and the two days after Eid, April 1 and 2 (Tuesday and Wednesday), were government holidays by executive order. March 28 was a weekly holiday.


Thus, government employees enjoyed 9 consecutive days of leave from April 3 to April 5, including the weekly holiday.
