Another accused has been arrested in the murder case of businessman Sohag at Mitford Hospital in the capital. Police conducted a drive on Friday (July 11) night and arrested Titon Gazi (32), the 9th accused in the case. A total of five people have been arrested in this regard, said Kotwali Police Station OC Md. Moniruzzaman.
Earlier, Sohag was hacked to death and hit on the head with a stone at Rajni Ghosh Lane adjacent to Gate No. 3 of Mitford Hospital on Wednesday evening. A video of this brutal incident went viral on social media, creating strong public anger.
While visiting the Dhaka District Police Lines and Reserve Force offices on Saturday (July 12) morning, Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “The law enforcement agencies are not indifferent to the murder incident. Those involved are being brought to justice quickly. However, the slowness of the trial process is not the responsibility of the law enforcement agencies.”
He also said, “No one will take the law into their own hands.
