The National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Referral Center (NILMRC), located in Agargaon, Dhaka, is a government institution under the Ministry of Health that offers advanced diagnostic services at affordable rates.

However, as of Sunday (November 9), the institute’s official website (https://nilmrc.portal.gov.bd) still lists Zahid Malek as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare.

Not just Malek — the site also names Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader as Health Secretary and Prof. Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam as Director General of the Health Directorate, though all of them are now former officials.

The website’s cover photo even features former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India on August 5 last year amid mass protests.

Zahid Malek, an Awami League leader, was first elected MP from Manikganj-3 in 2008, and re-elected in 2014 and 2019. He served as State Minister for Health in 2014, became Health Minister on January 7, 2019, and remained in office until January 10, 2024.
